CNC Machining FAQ

Straight answers to what buyers ask before their first order: tolerances, lead times, MOQ, NDAs, documentation and shipping.

What is your minimum order quantity?
One piece. Prototypes, replacement parts and single fixtures are all routine work, and there is no tooling charge for machined components.
How quickly will I get a quote?
Most quotes go back the same business day and always within 24 hours. Sending a 3D model together with a 2D drawing with tolerances and finish gets you the fastest and most accurate price.
What tolerances can you hold?
Routine production tolerance is ±0.01 mm on linear dimensions, tightening to ±0.005 mm on critical features. Hole position is typically ±0.02 mm and surface roughness Ra 1.6 µm, with Ra 0.4 µm available on request.
Which file formats do you accept?
STEP, IGES, X_T and SolidWorks files for 3D, plus DWG or PDF for 2D drawings. If you only have a PDF or a photo of an existing part, we can still quote — an engineer will confirm the details with you.
How long does production take?
Prototypes ship in 7–10 days including finishing. Repeat production runs usually start at 5 business days depending on quantity, material availability and finishing requirements.
Can you sign an NDA?
Yes. Send your own NDA for review or use ours. Drawings are stored on isolated servers, access is limited to the engineers assigned to your job, and files are removed after the order closes.
Do you provide inspection reports?
Every order can include a first article inspection report against a ballooned drawing, CMM dimensional data with GD&T evaluation, and mill certificates for the material. Plating and heat-treatment certificates are supplied when those processes are used.
What are your payment terms?
For new customers, 50% deposit with the balance before shipment, paid by bank transfer. Repeat customers and larger programs can move to net terms after a few orders.
How do you ship, and who handles customs?
Express courier for prototypes, air freight for mid volumes and sea freight for production. We ship DDP to your door or FOB Shenzhen if you prefer to use your own forwarder. Packing lists, commercial invoices and tracking are sent the day goods leave.
Do you offer rush service?
Yes, subject to machine capacity. Tell us the date you need the parts in hand rather than the date you need them shipped, and we will confirm what is achievable before you order.
